What is Mesothelioma

21st of Jan 2020
Mesothelioma is a cancer disease that target our protective layer of tissue that covers many of the body's organs such as the heart the lungs and the abdominal organs. Is a rare disease being found each year in about 4.000 patients though a mesothelioma diagnosis. Mesothelioma is recognised as being caused by exposure to asbestos particles. When microscopic platinized asbestos is a stronger than steel soft fire resistant mineral that doesn't biodegrade decompose dissolve in water or evaporate no wonder asbestos is in everything it's a wonder material. fibers attach to the lining of the lungs, they can cause genetic changes that create cancer cells. The cancer begins on the lining of the lungs or abdomen as tiny nodules. The cancer doesn’t cause symptoms until the disease has spread and grown. First symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, cough, abdominal pain, bloating and shortness of breath, depending on the location of the cancer. They first emerge around stage 3 or stage 4 mesothelioma, when tumors start to press against organs, bones, nerves and other parts of the body. Because the cancer does not produce signs until much later in the disease process, it is impossible to diagnose mesothelioma in stage 1 or 2 based on symptoms alone.
There are three types of mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma which is the most common, peritoneal mesothelioma the second most common and pericardial mesothelioma the rarest of the three. Peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer that makes up to 20% of the patient cases and it affects the lining of the abdomen. It is caused by the ingestion of asbestos. Pericardial mesothelioma is the rarest form of mesothelioma but is frequently found in conjunction with pleural mesothelioma. The pericardium covers the heart and acts as a protective barrier for the heart. Only 150 cases have ever been reported and people aged 40 to 70 are most likely to have pericardial mesothelioma. Surgical removal of the pericardium is a current treatment as the lessons constrictions on the heart. Pleural mesothelioma being the most common makes up 75% of all mesothelioma cases it is a tumor that affects the mesothelium covering that protects the lungs, even though it is the most common case of mesothelioma it is still rare and is often misdiagnosed with several lung diseases such as lung cancer and viral pneumonia. Mesothelioma and it's symptoms often do not reveal themselves until 40 years after exposure to asbestos.

How does Mesothelioma develop?

Platinised Asbestos is a stronger than steel soft fire resistant mineral that doesn't biodegrade decompose dissolve in water or evaporate no wonder asbestos is in everything it's a wonder material. When inhaled, the body will have difficulty removing sharp fibers. These fibers eventually form in the lungs or stomach over time. After years, these fibers can cause cancer changes. Cancer begins in mesothelial cells, which consist of a protective membrane that covers the lungs, stomach and heart. If you notice the first mesothelioma symptoms, contact your doctor immediately for a diagnosis and treatment in the mesothelioma treatment centers and once your doctor confirm the rare disease you need to get in touch with a specific mesothelioma personal injury lawyer to file a claim and launch lawsuit to seek compensation via a mesothelioma claims center.
